“The process of becoming who you will be begins first with the total acceptance of who you are” (Henepola Gunaratana)
All our lives have stories. Living with stories we may not like, understand or feel uncomfortable to share can often lead to stress and self-doubt.
I offer a safe, respectful, non-judgemental and supportive space for you to share and explore your story, to help you make better sense of your feelings, relationships, challenges and other experiences, and to move forward with your life.
Working within a person-centred, humanistic and relational framework, I see counselling as a collaborative process which involves developing trust and confidence, so you feel increasingly able to be open, honest and to grow in your self-esteem and personal development.
I can offer a variety of approaches to our work together and am trained as a counsellor, eco/ nature-based therapist, writing/ poetry therapist, and my advanced training in embodied-relational therapy has informed how we can work with stories held in our bodies.
I offer one to one or couple/ relationship counselling, online, or face to face from a room at the Birdhouse in central Falmouth or outdoors in nature.
In addition to private practice, I have worked at Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change, Falmouth and Exeter Universities, Sea Sanctuary, and volunteered with Counselling for Social Change. I have also taught English, Guidance/ Counselling and worked and trained in participatory health research. I have lived and worked in a number of different countries and enjoy working with and am sensitive to people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
I have regular supervision and continually develop and expand my practice through ongoing courses, workshops and training.
